Dhaka: Pakistan International Airlines has entered into a cargo agreement with Riyadh Air, the newly established Saudi Arabian airline.

According to reports, under the agreement, cargo will be transported from Pakistan and London to Riyadh, from where it will be distributed to other destinations through the combined networks of both airlines. The agreement took effect on October 29.

Reports said the arrangement aims to expand PIA’s cargo operations and increase the airline’s revenue. The collaboration is also intended to help meet the rising global demand for air freight services.

Reports further added that PIA already maintains a cargo partnership with British Airways, through which around 1,000 tons of cargo are transported to the United Kingdom annually. The agreement with Riyadh Air, reports said, forms part of PIA’s broader business strategy to strengthen its cargo network.
