Two renowned travel trade personalities Azad, Lee no more

Dhaka: Two leading travel trade personalities in Bangladesh Khwaja A Azad and Alexander Lee passed away on June 26. 
Khwaja A Azad died in the United States of America, where he was living with his daughter, according to a news received in Dhaka.
Former Director, Marketing and Sales of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Azad, following his retirement, joined MAAS, a leading travel agency and took charge of the company in 1989.
His endeavours in promoting travel and tourism, earned him fame both at home and abroad and he was nominated as a Board Member of PATA, which he served a full term of three years. Since then Azad brought the company's business status to the level that it represented five reputed airlines as GSA in Bangladesh.
Azad started his career as an Executive in Lever Brothers and later Pakistan International Airlines and joined Biman after independence of Bangladesh.
On the same day of Azad's demise, another reputed travel industry personality Alexander Lee, Chairman of ABC Air Ltd - GSA of Korean Air in Bangladesh passed away at the Evercare Hospital in the capital. He was suffering from Covid-19. 
Lee, born and brought up in Bangladesh, having Bangladesh nationality, founded ABC Air Ltd in February 1985 and acquired GSA of Korean Air and Emirates in 1986. Over the last 30 years, ABC AIR Ltd has successfully represented two of the world's leading airlines in Bangladesh.
