Dhaka: A curious travel incident from China has drawn widespread attention online after reports claimed that a man repeatedly accessed an airport VIP lounge using a single first-class ticket without actually taking a flight.
According to reports, the individual purchased a fully refundable first-class ticket that granted access to premium lounge facilities at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. Instead of boarding his scheduled flights, he allegedly used the ticket’s flexibility to repeatedly change his travel dates.
The man is said to have visited the lounge more than 300 times over several months, where he reportedly enjoyed buffet meals during each visit before rescheduling his departure again.
Airport staff eventually became suspicious after noticing the unusually frequent lounge entries linked to the same booking pattern and initiated an internal review.
Reports suggest that when questioned, the ticket was ultimately canceled and a full refund was issued, as no specific rule violation was clearly established at the time. The incident has since circulated widely on social media, with many calling it one of the most unusual “loophole” cases in airline travel history.
