Biman welcomes new DMD Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed

Dhaka: The government appointed aviation professional Syed Moin Uddin Ahmed as the new Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, with the newly appointed official formally joining the office on Thursday, April 9.

Ahmed brings over 22 years of experience in the aviation industry, alongside 15 years of expertise in accounts, management, and customer support, read a press release from Biman. His extensive career includes holding several key positions within Biman, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening commercial operations and enhancing service delivery.

During his earlier tenure at the national carrier, Ahmed served as Country Manager at Biman’s London station from February 2004 to July 2007. He also worked in roles such as Manager (Cargo Sales), Organization and Method (O&M) Officer, and Assistant Manager. In these capacities, he demonstrated strong leadership in areas including commercial planning, sales growth, station coordination, workforce management, and administrative operations.

Following his service at Biman, Ahmed gained further international exposure in the United Kingdom, contributing to the private travel and aviation sector in various senior roles.

Academically, Ahmed holds a postgraduate degree in Industrial Psychology and Advanced Statistics from the University of Dhaka. He has also completed a diploma in Human Resource Management, along with several professional training programs.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, in a statement, extended its congratulations to Ahmed, expressing confidence that his leadership, experience, and strategic insight will help further strengthen and modernize the airline’s operations.
