Dhaka: The German aviation company Aerodata AG has expressed keen interest in providing airport calibration services in Bangladesh, signaling potential technical collaboration in the country’s aviation sector.
The issue was highlighted during a courtesy meeting between Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam and German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Rudiger Lotz, at the Bangladesh Secretariat on April 19. State Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present, as per a press release from the ministry.
During the discussion, Ambassador Lotz mentioned that German firm Aerodata AG is interested in offering airport calibration services in Bangladesh. These services are essential for ensuring the precision and reliability of critical navigation systems, including instrument landing systems (ILS), radar, and communication equipment — key components for safe aircraft operations.
The Bangladesh side welcomed the interest, emphasizing that such advanced technical support would play a vital role in the modernization and safety enhancement of the country’s aviation infrastructure.
Both sides also reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and Germany, particularly in aviation technology and services.
