Dhaka: Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) has issued a set of directives to airlines following temporary airspace closures in several Middle Eastern countries amid heightened regional security tensions.

According to a press release, the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates has been temporarily closed by their respective civil aviation authorities after the recent Israeli attack on Iran.

As a result, a number of commercial flights operating on affected routes have been canceled, delayed, or rescheduled.

In response, HSIA authorities have instructed all concerned airlines to proactively inform passengers about flight cancellations or delays through SMS, email, and call centers.

Airlines have also been directed to ensure their staff remain present at the airport to provide necessary information and guidance to passengers.

The airport authorities further emphasized that clear and comprehensive details regarding rescheduled flights must be communicated to minimize inconvenience.

Passengers planning to travel on the affected routes have been urged to immediately contact their respective airline offices or travel agencies to verify flight status and take necessary measures.

HSIA said the situation is being closely monitored and that coordinated cooperation from all stakeholders is essential to ensure passenger safety and maintain operational normality.

The airport authorities also sought the sympathy and cooperation of the general public during this period of disruption.
