Dhaka: The Bureau of Immigration (BOI), Government of India, has announced the rollout of an online Digital Arrival Card for all foreign nationals arriving in the country, effective October 1, 2025.
The initiative aims to streamline the immigration process and reduce congestion at immigration counters across Indian airports.
Under the new system, foreign travelers will now have the option to complete the mandatory Disembarkation Card either digitally prior to arrival or physically upon arrival.
The digital version can be submitted up to 72 hours in advance through any of the following platforms:
The official Indian Visa website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival/
The “Indian Visa Su-Swagatam” mobile app
By scanning the QR code provided in the official communication
While the digital option is being promoted to enhance efficiency, the physical submission of the Disembarkation Card will remain available during a transition period of up to six months, or until the digital system is fully stabilized—whichever comes first.
This move is part of a broader government effort to modernize border entry procedures, reduce paperwork, and improve the overall experience for inbound international travelers.
The BOI encourages all foreign visitors to use the digital option wherever possible to ensure a faster and smoother immigration clearance process.
