Dhaka: Turkish Airlines and Air Montenegro, the national flag carrier of Montenegro, have recently signed a new codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing travel connectivity between Turkey and Montenegro.
Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its flight code on Air Montenegro–operated services on the Istanbul–Tivat and Istanbul–Podgorica routes.
In return, Air Montenegro will place its flight code not only on flights between the two countries but also on Turkish Airlines’ services to Dubai and Baku.
Turkish Airlines Chief Executive Officer Bilal Ekşi said, “In addition to being one of the key hubs of global aviation, Istanbul serves as a strategic bridge connecting Europe and Asia. Our cooperation with Air Montenegro will not only add new momentum to traffic between Türkiye and Montenegro, but will also create synergy for tourism and trade.”
Air Montenegro Chief Executive Officer Vukadin Stojanović commented, “This codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines represents an important step in strengthening Montenegro’s international connectivity. By combining our regional network with Turkish Airlines’ global reach, we are offering more destinations, greater flexibility, and a higher-quality travel experience, while also supporting the development of cultural and economic ties between our two countries.”
Both Turkish Airlines and Air Montenegro expect the codeshare agreement to boost passenger traffic and support the sustainable development of air connectivity between Turkey and Montenegro.
