Dhaka: The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased jet fuel prices once again, continuing a series of recent hikes.

According to a notification issued on April 7, the revised rates will take effect from midnight (12:00 am).

Under the new pricing, jet fuel for domestic flights has been raised by 12.26 percent to BDT 227.08 per liter, up from BDT 202.29 per liter.

For international operations, the price has been set at SUD 1.4806 per liter, compared to the previous USD 1.3216 per liter. These rates are exempt from duties and VAT.

This marks the third increase in jet fuel prices within a month.

Earlier, on March 24, BERC implemented a sharp hike of around 80 percent for domestic routes and nearly 79 percent for international routes in a single adjustment.

Before that, on March 8, domestic jet fuel prices were raised from BDT 95.12 to BDT 112.41 per liter, while international prices were revised from USD 0.62 to USD 0.7384 per liter.

The continued upward adjustments reflect ongoing volatility in the global energy market, which has been impacting domestic fuel pricing in recent weeks.
