Dhaka: Visiting U.S. Special Envoy Charles Harder and Deputy Chief of Mission Megan Bouldin toured the historic Lalbagh Fort on April 19, underscoring the importance of preserving Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage.

The delegation was hosted by the Department of Archaeology during their visit to the iconic Mughal-era site in the capital. As part of the tour, the U.S. officials explored the restored Hammam Khana, a significant architectural feature dating back to the Mughal period, according to a social media post from the embassy.

The Hammam Khana restoration was supported by the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, reflecting the United States’ continued commitment to safeguarding historical landmarks and cultural assets in Bangladesh and around the world.

The visit highlighted ongoing cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States in cultural preservation, with a shared focus on protecting heritage sites for future generations while promoting greater awareness of the country’s historical legacy.
