14-day quarantine must for diplomats too: Foreign Affairs Ministry

Dhaka: Following the Civil Aviation Authorities notice issued on March 31 regarding the extension of the quarantine period to 14 days for arrivals from the UK and Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the quarantine measure applies to all diplomatic, official, and Laissez Passer holders too.

All passengers arriving into the country including diplomatic, official, and laissez passer holders posted in diplomatic missions in Bangladesh, or visiting Bangladesh for official purpose with valid visas, and their family members including holders of ordinary passports, will be required to submit an RT-PCR based Covid-19 negative certificate with English translation at the port of entry, with the test being done within 72 hours before the start of the trip.

But they will be required to undergo strict self/home quarantine of 14 days under the supervision of their respective missions in Dhaka if they are asymptomatic at the time of arrival in Bangladesh, added the notice by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If they are identified with symptoms of Covid by health officials at the port of entry into Bangladesh, they will be transferred to the designated government facilities for further evaluation and treatment, mentioned in the notice.
