Dhaka: No passenger from Nepal will be allowed to enter Bangladesh from May 10, announced Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh on May 9 in a circular.
The move follows CAAB’s efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus from the high-risk neighbouring countries.
However, only Bangladeshi expatriates/citizens who visited (not residing in) Nepal in 15 days prior to travelling to Bangladesh are allowed to enter Dhaka with special approval from the competent authority of Bangladesh.
Earlier, operation of schedule international flights to and from Dhaka resumed on May 1 following a 17-day suspension. CAAB issued a circular imposing special conditions on travel to and from 38 countries, considering the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Passengers coming from 26 countries which include Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Kuwait, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and Uruguay will have to undergo a mandatory 14-days institutional quarantine at government-nominated hotels at passenger's own expenses.
However, no passengers are allowed to and from 12 countries which include India, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Georgia, Iran, Mongolia, Oman, South Africa and Tunisia.
