Prizes were handed over to the winners of raffle draws organized for the visitors during the recently concluded international tourism fair ‘Air Astra Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) 2023’ at a ceremony held at the Dhanmondi Club of the city yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of the Bangladesh Monitor, organizer of DTM said over 15,000 people visited the 18th edition of the fair during three days. Over 5,000 people registered online for visiting the popular event. The fair this year recorded a total transaction of more than Tk. 120 million, including spot sales, and advance booking.
Raffle draws were held every day for the visitors pre-registered online, while the grand raffle draw for other visitors was held on the concluding day, i.e. May 20. A total of 33 lucky visitors won prizes including air tickets to domestic and international destinations, hotel and resort accommodation, and complimentary dinner among others. Anima, a housewife from Gazipur won the first prize- return tickets to Maldives for two.
Various organizations contributed raffle draw prizes including Air Astra, US-Bangla Airlines, NOVOAIR, Oman Air, Jazeera Airways, Dera Resort and Spa, Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka, Hotel Sarina, Sikder Resort and Villas, Radisson Blu Hotel, Chattogram Bay View, D’More Resort, Dream Square Resort, and Fantasy Kingdom.
The prize giving ceremony was attended by the representatives of the sponsors and partners of DTM as well as the award sponsors among others.
The 18th edition of the Dhaka Travel Mart was held from May 18-20, 2023 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Dhaka. Organized by the Bangladesh Monitor, popular travel and tourism extravaganza was supported by Air Astra as the title sponsor, and US-Bangla Airlines as the premium sponsor. Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) joined the event as the banking partner.
