Dhaka: The Bangladesh Jail Pavilion has emerged as the top winner in the general pavilion category at the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), marking a significant milestone in prison-led production and rehabilitation initiatives.

The pavilion showcased products crafted by inmates from 38 prisons nationwide, presenting a powerful narrative of skill development and reform. Far from a conventional sales booth, the space was designed as an organized and visually striking exhibition that highlighted the creativity and discipline behind each item.

Visitors to the fair were drawn to an extensive collection of 402 products, including handmade crafts and durable furniture, all produced within correctional facilities. The thoughtful presentation and high-quality workmanship not only impressed the judges but also translated into strong commercial performance.

According to Inspector General of Prisons (Development and Media) Md Jannatul Farhad, the pavilion achieved its highest sales figure to date, exceeding BDT 7 crore. He said, the award recognized both the aesthetic appeal of the inmate-made products and the pavilion’s structured and disciplined management.
