Second death anniversary of Barrister Rafique Ul Huq

Today is the second death anniversary of eminent lawyer and philanthropist of the country Barrister Rafique Ul Huq A former Attorney General and a Senior Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, the late Barrister Rafique Ul Huq had moved cases and fought legal battles on behalf of several politicians, including Awami League President and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia before the Supreme Court, while they had been detained during caretaker government. 

Besides serving various national and international assignments with legal bodies, he was a Member of the National Commission on Money, Banking and Credit and Chairman of the sub-committee on Banking laws under the commission, which formulated the current Banking laws of Bangladesh (1984), Chairman Corporate Laws Committee (1990), Member of the Company Law Reforms Committee (1977) and the committee for Improvement of the Stock Exchange Market in Bangladesh. 

Late Barrister Rafique Ul Huq, a great philanthropist was actively involved with various educational and healthcare establishments in the country, including Ahsania University of Science and Technology (AUST), AD-Din Women’s Medical College, Dhaka Shishu Hospital, BIRDEM Hospital, Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital, Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital and generously contributed in setting up of these institutions. 

A Milad & Dua Mahfil has been arranged by his relatives on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 4pm at Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Dhanmondi.
