Dhaka: Thai Airways (THAI) reported a total revenue of THB 187,989 million in 2024, marking an increase of 16.7 per cent compared to 2023’s THB 161,067 million revenue.

In a release, the airline posted an operating profit of THB 41,515 million in 2024, an increase of 3.2 per cent compared to THB 40,211 million in 2023. Specifically, the EBIT margin for 2024 was at 22.1 per cent, higher than what was estimated in the Rehabilitation Plan.

According to the 2024 consolidated financial statement, THAI reported THB 26,901 million net loss due to loss incurred by one-time transactions pursuant to debt conversion in accordance with the Rehabilitation Plan, which was completed in November 2024, of THB 45,271 million.

In 2024, total passenger number was 16.14 million, higher than the same period in 2023 by 2.38 million. Cabin Factor decreased from 79.7 per cent in the same period last year to 78.8 per cent.

An increase in revenue was mainly due to recovery in aviation and tourism sectors and significantly rising passenger travel demand, informed the airline in the release.

Currently, THAI and its subsidiaries’ fleet in operation includes 79 aircraft, consisting of 59 widebodies and 20 narrowbodies.

Under the winter 2025 flight schedule, THAI plans to operate flights to 64 destinations, similar to in 2024, while the total number of flights will be 883 per week, an increase of 40 weekly flights from 843 weekly flights in 2024, the airline concluded in the release.
