The passenger load factor of aircraft of theTurkish Airlines (THY) in May this year exceeded 80 percent, the number of passengers carried reached 6.3 million people.
Such data are provided on Thursday (June 8) by the press service of the Turkish civil aviation flagship.
While a number of countries maintain travel restrictions, THY increased the number of seats on flights in May this year by 12.6 percent compared to the same period in 2019 due to growing demand.
The passenger load factor of THY liners on international flights in May was 79.5 percent, and on domestic flights – 83.7 percent. The number of passengers carried in January-May this year increased to 24 million people, and the overall passenger seat occupancy rate was 73.5 percent. The passenger load factor of THY liners on international flights in January-May amounted to 72.5 percent, and on domestic flights – 82.8 percent.
As of the end of May this year, the number of aircraft in the airline’s fleet reached 376 units.
The volume of air transportation of goods and mail THY in May of this year increased by 11.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019 – up to 144 thousand tons, and in January-May – by 13.4 percent, up to 673 thousand tons.
