Dhaka : Air Astra, the youngest airline in Bangladesh, became a Member Airline of International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently. Air Astra expressed its commitment to ensuring the right of passengers to travel safely and comfortably by being recognised as an IATA member airline within two years of commercial operations.
IATA's mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline industry, and is the collective voice of more than 340 airlines from over 120 countries worldwide. Their vision is to work together to shape the future growth of a safe, secure and sustainable air transport industry that connects and enriches our world, said a release.

Air Astra currently operates 13 daily flights from its base in Dhaka to Cox's Bazar, Chattogram and Saidpur with its fleet of 4x ATR72-600 aircraft revered as the most modern and safe turboprop aircraft in its category.
