Emirates resumes flights to five African countries

Dubai : Emirates resumed passenger operations between Dubai and five African countries: Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa from January 29.
The significant restoration of services includes Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Dar El Salaam, Tanzania; Nairobi, Kenya; Harare, Zimbabwe; Emirates' three South African gateways Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Flights between Dubai and South Africa operate as a daily flight to and from Johannesburg, effective January 29 and double daily services from February 1. Flights to and from Cape Town and Durban operates daily from February 1. 
Emirates is operating 10 weekly flights to Nairobi from January 29, daily to Addis Ababa from January 30, five flights a week to Dar Es Salaam from January 30, six weekly flights to Harare, linked to its Lusaka service from January 30. 
All passengers travelling from Emirates' African network with Dubai as their final destination require a 48 hour PCR test. Upon arrival in Dubai, passengers will undergo an additional Covid-19 PCR test and remain in self quarantine until the results of the test are received.
Passengers travelling from these destinations and transiting in Dubai are required to follow the rules and requirements of their final destination.
New distribution agreement with Amadeus 
Emirates has signed a new agreement with Amadeus, a leading global distribution system (GDS), extending their partnership to offer the travel trade community more flexibility, choice, and future capabilities. 
From February 1, 2022, all trade partners on Amadeus will be able to access Emirates' content free of surcharge.
The new agreement will also see Emirates' NDC (new distribution capability) content integrated into the Amadeus Travel Platform; with NDC content being made available to travel sellers over the course of 2022.
Catering to a dynamic marketplace, Emirates aims to provide its trade partners with a choice of connection options and differentiated products and benefits across channels, including via its own NDC-enabled direct connect platform, Emirates Gateway.
