Kuala Lumpur : Oneworld member Malaysia Airlines will once again fly between its Kuala Lumpur hub and Kolkata from December 2, 2024.
Malaysia Airlines will launch a five-weekly service between the cities with its Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The flag carrier's two-class 737-800s feature 12 or 16 recliner seats in 2-2 business class and up to 162 seats across 3-3 economy class.
Malaysia Airlines last served Kolkata until early 2006, operating A330 aircraft at the time.
Kolkata will be the airline's 10th destination in India.
Malaysia Airlines recently launched a number of new regional destinations, including a new daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Da Nang, Vietnam, that saw the inaugural flight two weeks ago.
In September, the oneworld carrier also confirmed its second long-haul destination in Europe.
From next year, Malaysia Airlines will launch daily Kuala Lumpur-Paris CDG flights with its A350-900 aircraft, complementing double daily service to London's Heathrow.
