Dhaka : The new Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hasan Arif on November 11 asked the officials concerned to work with the utmost sincerity and patriotism to turn Bangladesh into a regional aviation hub as well as an attractive tourist destination.
He made the call during a meeting with the ministry's officials at the Secretariat on his first day at office.
The new adviser highlighted the necessity to improve service quality at airports, enhance passenger services at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and maintain flight schedules.
He also stressed the importance of developing key tourist attractions into popular destinations and taking essential initiatives to launch international flights from Cox's Bazar Airport.
Presided over by Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Nasrin Jahan, the meeting was also attended by Additional Secretaries Saima Shaheen Sultana, Abdun Naser Khan, Fatema Rahim Veena, and Md Anisur Rahman, among others.
Earlier, upon arriving at the ministry, the newly appointed adviser was warmly welcomed with floral greetings by the officials.
