Passenger movement at country's airports increasing by 10 pc yearly

Dhaka : Passenger movement at country's airports is increasing by 10 per cent every year, and so is aircraft movement while cargo movement is increasing by 14 per cent yearly. 
Md Mizanur Rahman, Member, Administration, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said this while addressing the seminar titled "Golden Jubilee of Independence and Achievement of Bangladesh" held on November 29 at Dhaka Airport. 
He further said, in thirty years, passenger movement at country's airports increased by 22 times to 136 lac in 2019. During the same period, aircraft movement increased by 14 times to 158 thousand, while cargo movement increased by 36 times to 366 thousand metric ton. 
Following the development, the government is now working to establish Dhaka Airport Third Terminal at a cost of BDT 21,400 crore, Sylhet Airport Extension at BDT 2,300 crore and Cox's Bazar Airport Runway Extension to Sea at BDT 3,700 crore, mentioned Mizanur Rahman. 
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali and Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain attended the seminar as the Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively while Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Curator of Bangabandhu Museum was the keynote speaker.
