Dhaka : The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said, according to reports, that they were not expanding the existing runway of Saidpur Airport currently due to a fund crunch following the Covid-19 pandemic.
CAAB mentioned over BDT 5,000 crore would be required just for land acquisition and runway construction work, added reports.
However, the modernisation work at the airport continues with the available budget of CAAB, said Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman, CAAB, cited reports.
