Neom : As part of efforts to transform the travel experience and boost tourism, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior on September 10 launched the Smart Gates Project at Neom Bay Airport.

The initiative is designed to streamline passenger procedures by introducing self-service biometric scanning, making travel more efficient and improving the overall visitor experience.

The innovative project represents a collaboration among the General Directorate of Passports, Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and Neom.

As Saudi Arabia continues to modernise its infrastructure, this digital solution aligns with the Kingdom's broader vision to enhance the quality of life through cutting-edge technology.

The introduction of Smart Gates at Neom Bay Airport marks a major leap forward in reducing wait times and enhancing the efficiency of airport procedures. For travellers, especially international tourists, the ability to scan biometric data at self-service kiosks offers a faster, more seamless experience, said reports.

The Smart Gates initiative is expected to enhance the airport's capacity to handle more passengers efficiently, particularly as Saudi Arabia aims to attract millions of tourists as part of its Vision 2030 plan.
