Dhaka : Former Bangla-desh Cricket Board Vice Presi-dent Raisuddin Ahmed passed away on January 20 in the capital after suffering from a prolonged illness.
BCB and the other organisations in the cricket fraternity expressed deep bereavement at the demise of Raisuddin, who is also former Director of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He was also the Advisor of the Pacific Asia Travel Association's (PATA) Bangladesh Chapter and Executive Editor of a premier magazine called Travel World.
The deceased was 82 at the time of his death.
"Raisuddin served Bangladesh cricket at a time when the game was struggling to take off. It is due to the selfless efforts of people like him that our cricket is where it is today. On behalf of the board I extend condolences and sympathies to his family and pray for the salvation of his soul," said BCB President Nazmul Hasan in a press release.
