Dhaka: Bangladesh and Pakistan are near to inking an agreement on granting on-arrival visas to diplomatic and official passport holders, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury following a courtesy meeting with Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi at the Secretariat on July 23.
Mohsin Raza Naqvi is also the President of Asian Cricket Council (ACC), and Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to a release.
The Adviser also mentioned that the construction of Bangladesh Embassy in Pakistan is currently underway.
Besides visa-on-arrival facilities for diplomatic and official passport holders, the two sides discussed several other issues of mutual interest, including counter-narcotics cooperation, anti-terrorism efforts, mutual assistance between police academies, the Rohingya crisis, cybercrime prevention, and enhancing bilateral trade and business relations.
