Dhaka: SriLankan Airlines Flight UL229 from Colombo to Kuwait City returned back to Colombo after experiencing a technical issue shortly after takeoff on Thursday, January 8.

Flightradar24's ADS-B data shows an Airbus A321neo, registered 4R-AND, was operating the flight.

After landing, the aircraft was parked at a designated bay without any incident, and the passengers disembarked safely. No injuries were reported.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka said it closely monitored the situation, ensuring all standard safety procedures were followed and further checks would be carried out in line with established aviation safety protocols.

SriLankan Airlines Flight UL229 is a scheduled daily service from Colombo in Sri Lanka to Kuwait City in Kuwait. The airline usually deploys its narrow-body fleet of Airbus A320s and A321s on this flight.
