SABCCI launch set for October 7
Dhaka: The Saudi Arabia–Bangladesh Business Summit 2025 kicks off in Dhaka on October 6, marking a major step toward enhanced bilateral trade and investment between the two nations.
The event precedes the official launch of the Saudi Arabia–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI) — the first-ever joint chamber between Saudi and Bangladeshi business communities — scheduled for October 7.
At a press conference in Dhaka, SABCCI President Ashraful Haq Chowdhury said the chamber aims to strengthen economic ties, promote trade, and explore new opportunities in petrochemicals, agro-industries, green technology, IT, and digital finance.
A 20-member Saudi delegation, led by Sheikh Omar Abdulhafiz Amirbaksh of Majd Al Omran Group, will be attending the three-day summit.
The Business Summit will be held at Hotel Sheraton, Banani, with Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur attending as guests of honor.
The grand launch ceremony of SABCCI will follow the same evening, joined by Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
SABCCI Vice President Ahmed Yusuf Walid said the initiative will open “a new era of partnership” between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.
