Dhaka: Turkish Airlines continued its steady performance in the third quarter of 2025, reporting a profit from main operations of USD 1.1 billion, supported by resilient demand and network expansion.

According to the company’s financial results, total revenues rose 4.9 per cent year-over-year to approximately USD 7 billion in the July–September period, bringing total revenues for the first nine months of 2025 to USD 17.8 billion. Despite softer yields and cost pressures, the carrier maintained strong profitability, with EBITDAR reaching USD 2.1 billion and a margin of 29.6 percent.

The airline carried 27.2 million passengers during the third quarter—its highest-ever figure for the period—marking 18 consecutive quarters of growth. Passenger capacity grew 8.2 percent year-over-year, now standing 43 percent above pre-pandemic levels.

Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof Ahmet Bolat emphasized Turkish Airlines’ resilience amid ongoing global challenges, including trade disruptions and engine supply issues.

As part of its 2033 targets, Turkish Airlines invested USD 3.6 billion in the first nine months of the year, expanding its fleet to 506 aircraft, up 8.4 percent year-on-year, despite production bottlenecks. The company also announced a major fleet renewal plan, finalizing negotiations with Boeing for 50 firm and 25 option orders of B787-9/10s and 100 firm and 50 option orders of B737 MAX 8/10s.

The airline further expanded its global footprint through new commercial partnerships, including an agreement to acquire a minority stake in Air Europa, one of Spain’s leading carriers. The deal aims to enhance connectivity between Türkiye and Spain and open new markets in Latin America.

With strong October traffic results—featuring a 19 percent rise in passenger numbers and a 16 percent increase in cargo volume—Turkish Airlines expects its 2025 year-end EBITDAR margin to remain within the 22–24 percent range, consistent with long-term targets.
