BAF training plane crash: ISPR confirms 19 dead including pilot, 164 injured

Dhaka: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) F-7 BGI training aircraft into a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara has resulted in the deaths of 19 individuals, including the pilot. The devastating incident has also left 164 others injured.

According to ISPR, the casualties have been distributed among several hospitals as follows:

1. Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital – 8 injured, no fatalities

2. National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (Burn Unit) – 70 injured, 2 deaths

3. Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka – 14 injured, 12 deaths

4. Kurmitola General Hospital – No injured, 2 deaths

5. Lubana General Hospital & Cardiac Centre, Uttara – 11 injured, 2 deaths

6. Uttara Adhunik Hospital – 60 injured, 1 death

7. Uttara Crescent Hospital – 1 injured, no fatalities

The Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defence earlier confirmed the same death toll, emphasizing the severity of the incident and the ongoing rescue and recovery operations.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates as they become available. The government extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes a swift recovery to those injured.
