Dhaka: Dubai International Airport (DXB) expects December 28 to be its busiest day ever, with 312,000 passengers, surpassing the previous forecast peak of 309,000 on December 20, Dubai Airports said.
December 2025 is set to be the airport’s busiest month in history, with forecasts of more than 8.7 million passengers.
Daily traffic is expected to exceed 300,000 throughout the month, as residents and visitors travel for the festive period. The surge highlights Dubai’s popularity as a holiday destination.
Dubai Airports is coordinating with airlines, authorities, and service teams to manage the high volumes. Passengers should expect crowded terminals, longer check-in and security lines, and busy departure gates.
Travellers are advised to check in online, arrive no more than three hours before departure, and follow travel regulations.
Emirates passengers can use home or city check-in, self-service kiosks, and Smart Gates. First and Business Class passengers in Terminal 3 can access the “Red Carpet” Smart Tunnel for faster passport control.
Dubai Airports recommends using the Dubai Metro to reach Terminals 1 and 3 and advises proper packing of hand luggage, including spare batteries and power banks, to speed up security.
Enhanced support is available for People of Determination, including Sunflower Lanyard assistance and dedicated lounges in Terminal 2.
Once through security, passengers can access restaurants, duty-free shops, lounges, and the DXB Express Maps wayfinding platform.
The peak travel wave, which began during the UAE National Day long weekend in late November, is expected to continue through December 31, with more than 10 million passengers forecasted over the next five weeks.
December’s 8.7 million passengers will make it Dubai International’s single busiest month, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s busiest airports.
