Dhaka: After more than a decade, flydubai is resuming direct flights to Damascus, Syria.
Starting June 1, the Dubai carrier will operate daily flights between Dubai international airport’s terminal 2 and Damascus international airport.
This marks the first time flydubai returns to the Syrian capital since suspending operations in 2011 due to the civil war. The decision to relaunch comes following the UAE’s move earlier this year to reopen air links with Syria.
Flydubai’s daily service will depart Dubai at 6:30 AM and arrive in Damascus at 8:45 AM local time. The return leg will leave Damascus at 10:00 AM and land back in Dubai at 2:20 PM.
Both business and economy class seats will be available for passengers.
The move aims to boost regional travel during the Eid Al Adha period and the upcoming summer season, offering a direct and reliable option between the two cities.
According to flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith, the airline is “proud to return to a city with deep cultural and historical roots,” adding that the route supports the UAE’s broader push for regional connectivity.
