Dhaka: India’s largest airline by market share, IndiGo, has announced the launch of direct flights between Madurai and Abu Dhabi, starting June 13 this year.
With this addition, Madurai becomes the 16th Indian city to be directly connected to the UAE capital by IndiGo.
This announcement follows the recent launch of direct flights from Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam to Abu Dhabi.
The new Madurai flights will run three times a week, making international travel easier and more affordable for Indian travellers in the UAE heading home.
By linking smaller cities like Madurai to major global hubs, IndiGo said it aims to open up new opportunities. This direct flight will help businesses easily send farm products, textiles, and other goods from the Madurai area to the UAE and other countries, boosting local businesses and helping the economy grow.
For travellers, direct flight means no more connecting flights, cutting down travel time for business people, students, and families. This makes for a much smoother travel experience.
Last week, IndiGo also launched direct flights between Fujairah and Mumbai and Fujairah and Kannur in Kerala.
