Mumbai: The cargo arm of India's largest carrier IndiGo expects a 17pc growth in operations this fiscal boosted by demand on domestic and international routes, according to company executives.
The airline handled 387,047 tonnes of cargo last year, which it expects to rise to 453,627 tonnes in the ongoing financial year, the executives added, requesting anonymity.
This anticipated growth is attributed to increasing demand for air cargo, driven by factors such as e-commerce expansion and the need for swift delivery of goods. IndiGo’s commitment to enhancing its cargo infrastructure, including investments in specialized facilities and technology, supports this optimistic outlook.
The expansion aligns with IndiGo’s broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams and capitalize on the rising demand for air cargo services. By bolstering its cargo operations, IndiGo aims to solidify its position in the competitive logistics market.
