In his welcome address Mohd. Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia said Malaysia is the second largest trading partner of Bangladesh, among the South Asian countries, with bilateral trade recorded at nearly USD 3 billion. With both sides working towards a free trade agreement, we are confident that our economic cooperation will reach even greater heights in the coming years. Both countries have expanded cooperation in security, healthcare and medical tourism, retail business, and other sectors. Bangladesh has shown a clear commitment to developing its halal industry.
