Dhaka : Munlai Para was honored with the Most Innovative Tourist Product award at the Bangladesh Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality Awards 2025 for its inclusive and responsible tourism model.

Tamzid Siddiq Spondon, Managing Director, Munlai received the award on behalf of the project from the distinguished guests at the ceremony.

Munlai Para, developed by BASECAMP in Bandarban, is Bangladesh's first inclusive community-based tourism destination. Accessible by river and hill trails, this Bawm tribal village offers kayaking, tree-house stays, and immersive cultural experiences. Local residents received training in hospitality, hygiene, and entrepreneurship, enabling sustainable income while preserving heritage. Munlai represents a responsible tourism model that empowers communities, protects culture, and ensures environmentally respectful economic impact, demonstrating how tourism can create shared value for travelers and host communities alike.
