People aged over 65 cannot perform Hajj in 2022 : State Minister

Dhaka : Registered intending pilgrims over the age of 65 will not be allowed to perform Hajj in 2022 as per the Saudi government’s directive, said State Minister for Religious Affairs, Md Faridul Haque Khan, on April 26.
He came up with the information while answering questions from journalists at a discussion titled "Digital Transaction in Nagad Islamic Financial Management".
Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) organised the discussion at the Secretariat.
In 2022, a total of 57,856 pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj from Bangladesh.
On the other hand, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali, on April 27, said, this year's Hajj flights will start from May 31.
The airfare for Hajj flights will be BDT 1,40,000, the State Minister added. 
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 31,000 passengers while Saudi Arabian Airlines will take equal number of passengers.
This year, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will conduct 75 dedicated flights for Hajj.
