Dhaka : Tourist launch service on the Cox's Bazar-Saint Martin's Island route began from November 28.

A total of 2,000 tourists are being able to travel daily from Cox's Bazar to Saint Martin currently.

However, due to navigational issues and gunfire near the Myanmar border, tourist ship services from Teknaf are currently not permitted. Only launches from Cox's Bazar city will operate.

In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, launches will depart daily from the BIWTA terminal in Cox's Bazar city.

This decision was made during the first meeting of the government-formed committee to regulate tourism in Saint Martin on November 26.

Every year, the government permits launch services on the Teknaf-Saint Martin and Cox's Bazar-Saint Martin routes from October to March for six months.

The launch service is suspended during the remaining six months due to rough sea conditions.
