Dhaka : Visas for Belgium, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Nether-lands, Poland and Sweden will be available at the Swedish Embassy in Dhaka, effective December 10.

The Swedish Embassy in Dhaka made the announcement in a notice on December 8.

VFS Global, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Dhaka, will be launching a visa appointment system for Schengen visa applications to Belgium, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden, effective December 17, said the notice.

All applicants must book an appointment in advance to apply for a Schengen visa with VFS Global Sweden in Dhaka. Walk-in applications will no longer be accepted. The appointment slot is personal and needs to be booked by the applicant, further read the notice.

A service fee will be charged by VFS Global when the applicant books the appointment. The fee will not be refunded if the applicant does not show up for the appointment or if he/she cancels it less than 24 hours before his/her scheduled time slot.

They also urged applicants to only book an appointment with VFS Global Sweden in Dhaka if the purpose of their journey is to visit Belgium, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, or Sweden.
