Hong Kong : Cathay Dining has been awarded "Airline Caterer of the Year - Asia" at the 2026 PAX Readership Awards, marking a major recognition of its role in delivering inflight meals across the Cathay Group and other international airlines operating in and out of Hong Kong.

The award highlights the company's growing reputation for operational efficiency, food quality, and large-scale catering capability within Asia's competitive aviation services sector.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cathay Group, Cathay Dining supports daily flight operations by producing and supplying inflight meals under strict safety and quality standards. The company said the recognition reflects its focus on combining culinary craftsmanship with high-volume logistics performance.

In a notable operational achievement earlier this year, Cathay Dining set a new internal record on February 14, 2026, when it successfully prepared and uplifted more than 100,000 meals in a single day. The milestone came during peak travel demand and was completed without disrupting service quality.

Company leadership described the award as validation of both teamwork and operational discipline. Cathay Dining's Chief Executive Officer Pierre Bastjaens said the recognition reinforces the organization's commitment   to excellence in inflight catering, while Chief Operating Officer Michael Winner highlighted the complexity of maintaining consistency at scale during high-demand periods.

Looking ahead, Cathay Dining said it plans to further invest in culinary innovation, sustainability initiatives, and facility upgrades as it seeks to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a global aviation hub and expand its role in inflight dining services across the region.
