Air Arabia launches non-stop flights to London Gatwick from Sharjah

Dhaka: Air Arabia, billed as the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest budget carrier, has commenced double-daily nonstop flights between Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick Airport, with the inaugural flight taking off on July 4.
The low-cost airline said the launch marks a significant milestone in its expanding international network, strengthening air connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom while offering customers affordable and convenient travel options.
Inaugural ceremonies were held at both Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick Airport to celebrate the new route. The event in Sharjah was attended by Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority, and Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Airport Authority.
Representatives of the British Embassy in the UAE and Air Arabia's senior leadership were also present, marking the commencement of the service and reinforcing growing tourism, trade, and economic ties between the two nations.
"The introduction of our new service to London Gatwick marks a significant addition to Air Arabia's growing international network and reinforces our dedication to offering customers greater travel choice, convenience, and value," said Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Adel Al Ali.
He added that the connection further strengthens ties between both nations, supporting growing demand for air travel while fostering tourism, business, and cultural exchange.
Air Arabia is operating the Sharjah-London Gatwick route with its Airbus A321LR aircraft, which combine extended range with enhanced passenger comfort and improved fuel efficiency.
The airline currently operates a modern fleet comprised entirely of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. It offers a value-added onboard experience through its complimentary in-flight streaming service, "SkyTime," and its onboard menu, "SkyCafe."
Passengers can also benefit from "Air Rewards," which the airline describes as the most generous loyalty program in the region.
