Air Arabia signs group-level distribution deal with Amadeus

Dhaka: Sharjah-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia has signed a group-level distribution agreement with Amadeus, expanding its reach across the global travel trade, said the Spanish travel technology company in an official statement recently.
The deal will make the airline's content available through Amadeus' global network of travel sellers, who can serve Air Arabia customers through established workflows.
The agreement is based on a light ticketing model, under which travel sellers can book and manage budget carrier content using standard GDS workflows, with a direct real-time connection to the airline's systems.
Sellers will be able to access and book Air Arabia content in the Amadeus environment, on the same screen as the rest of the content they manage.
Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali said the agreement supports the airline's broader growth strategy by widening its distribution reach while giving customers more choice and accessibility.
Maher Koubaa, Executive Vice President of Travel Unit and Managing Director for EMEA at Amadeus, said travelers will benefit from greater choice and easier access to flights.
He added that travelers will also receive agency support before, during, and after their trips, including help with changes, disruptions, refunds, and rescheduling.
