Bangladesh, Nepal reaffirm commitment to boost tourism, regional connectivity

Dhaka: Bangladesh and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in tourism, regional connectivity, trade, and energy, underscoring the importance of deeper engagement between the two neighboring countries.

The commitment came during a courtesy meeting between Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Nepal's Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on July 30.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the longstanding friendly bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nepal and exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest, said a press release from the ministry.

They reiterated their shared resolve to expand cooperation in key sectors, including tourism, regional connectivity, trade, and power, while emphasizing the need to further deepen bilateral engagement.

The discussions highlighted the growing importance of improved regional connectivity in facilitating tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and economic cooperation between the two South Asian nations.

Bangladesh and Nepal have been working to strengthen transport and trade links in recent years, with both countries viewing enhanced connectivity as a catalyst for boosting tourism flows and expanding regional economic integration.

The meeting also reflected the continued momentum in bilateral relations as the two countries seek to unlock new opportunities for cooperation across multiple sectors.
