Biman flight to Toronto delayed after technical issue in Rome

Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh
Airlines delayed its BG305 flight from Dhaka to Toronto after the aircraft
operating the service developed a technical problem while making a stop at
Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
The aircraft was
operating flight BG306 from Toronto to Rome to Dhaka when the issue was
detected at Fiumicino Airport. Biman said the aircraft underwent necessary
technical inspections and repairs before it could continue to Dhaka.
The airline said the
safety and security of passengers remained its top priority and the flight departed
Rome for Dhaka after the fault was fully resolved and all required safety
checks were completed.
As BG305 would use the
same aircraft for its Dhaka-Rome-Toronto journey, the flight was also delayed.
Biman rescheduled BG305 to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport
at 1:00 pm on August 8.
Meanwhile, passengers
stranded in Rome on BG306 were provided with hotel accommodation, meals, and
other necessary assistance, according to the airline.
Biman said it would
announce the revised schedule for BG306 once it is finalized. Passengers
requiring assistance can contact the airline’s hotline at 13636.
In a notice, the national
flag carrier apologized for the inconvenience caused by the delay and thanked
passengers for their patience and cooperation.
