BMET explores opportunities for sending skilled workers to China

Dhaka: The Bureau of Manpower, Employment, and Training (BMET) has held a meeting with a delegation from China's state-owned China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to explore the possibility of recruiting skilled Bangladeshi workers for the Chinese labor market.

The meeting focused on creating new employment opportunities in China, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and identifying potential sectors for deploying skilled workers from Bangladesh, said a social media post of BMET.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on Bangladesh's skilled workforce, technical and language training, and workforce development programs tailored to the demands of the international labor market. They also discussed potential areas for future recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in China.

BMET Director General highlighted the government's initiatives to develop a skilled, internationally competitive workforce through various training programs. He expressed optimism that closer cooperation between Bangladesh and China would open up new employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.

Representatives of CCECC praised the potential of Bangladesh's skilled workforce and expressed interest in expanding cooperation to facilitate the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in the future.

BMET said it continues to work with international partners to strengthen cooperation aimed at ensuring safe, orderly, and skilled labor migration while expanding overseas employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.
