Booking.com names 10 trending travel destinations for 2027

Dhaka: Booking.com has
unveiled its list of 10 trending destinations for 2027, highlighting places
across five continents that are attracting growing interest from travelers, including
a California coastal town, European cities and lesser-known destinations in
Asia and South America.
The list features
Monterey in California, Reims in France, Sendai in Japan, Rosario in Argentina,
Puri in India, Christchurch in New Zealand, Bratislava in Slovakia, Goiânia in
Brazil, Pescara in Italy and Asunción in Paraguay.
According to Booking.com, the selection is based on year-over-year growth in bookings among the 1,000 most-booked destinations on its platform between January 1 and June 30, 2026. The company made adjustments to ensure geographical diversity.

Monterey is the only US
destination on the list. Located along California’s Central Coast, it offers
marine wildlife experiences, kayaking, whale watching and attractions such as
the Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row.
In Europe, Reims appeals
to visitors with Champagne-house tours and its UNESCO-listed Gothic cathedral,
while Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, combines medieval streets, historic
architecture, local cuisine and nearby vineyards. Italy’s Pescara offers
Adriatic beaches and regional seafood specialties.
Japan’s Sendai provides access to cultural landmarks, local cuisine and nearby attractions such as Matsushima Bay and Akiu Onsen. In India, Puri draws visitors with its beaches, religious significance and proximity to the UNESCO-listed Konark Sun Temple.

Christchurch offers urban
attractions alongside outdoor activities, gardens and access to New Zealand’s
South Island landscapes.
The South American
destinations bring distinct cultural experiences. Rosario in Argentina is known
for its riverside setting, dining and nightlife. Brazil’s Goiânia features Art
Deco architecture and regional Cerrado cuisine, while Paraguay’s Asunción
combines historic landmarks, lively markets and traditional food.
Booking.com’s broader
travel research also points to growing interest in experiences beyond familiar
holiday routines. In a survey of more than 28,000 travelers across 33 countries
and territories, 79 percent said they were interested in vacations that would
allow them to do something out of character, while 82 percent said their
emotional state could influence their travel choices.
The findings suggest that
travelers are increasingly considering destinations that offer new cultural
encounters, different landscapes and experiences beyond conventional tourist
routes.
With its 2027 list, Booking.com presents a mix of established attractions and cities that may encourage visitors to explore beyond the usual international travel hotspots.
