Da Nang tourism surge boosts Central Vietnam's golf tourism ambitions

Dhaka: Central Vietnam is gearing up for a stronger golf tourism season after Da Nang recorded robust growth in international visitor arrivals during the first five months of 2026, reinforcing the region's position as one of Asia's emerging golf destinations.

According to tourism figures, Da Nang welcomed 7.74 million overnight visitors between January and May, marking a 20.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. International arrivals climbed 23.6 percent to 4.18 million, reflecting sustained recovery in inbound travel.

Tourism stakeholders expect the recently introduced digital arrival card for visitors entering Da Nang to further streamline the arrival process and support future growth.

The region, promoted under the Vietnam Golf Coast brand, is home to several championship golf courses designed by internationally renowned architects, alongside luxury resorts, beaches and UNESCO-listed heritage attractions.

Golf clubs across Central Vietnam are preparing for the peak season with a series of tournaments and new visitor experiences. Ba Na Hills Golf Club will continue its popular Night Golf program and host the IMG Trophy Tournament in September, while Montgomerie Links Golf Club is set to stage its 16th Club Championships later this month, with proceeds supporting local education initiatives.

Industry officials believe the combination of quality golf facilities, improved connectivity and rising international arrivals will further strengthen Central Vietnam's appeal among global golf travelers.
