Ethiopian Airlines launches flight services to Nacala

Addis
Ababa : Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger service to Nacala,
Mozambique, expanding its network in the country to three destinations. The
airline began operating the route from Addis Ababa on October 27, 2026, with
flights scheduled three times a week.
The
inaugural departure from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport was marked by a
ceremony attended by government officials, industry stakeholders and airline
executives.
Nacala,
a coastal city in northern Mozambique, is known for its tourism attractions and
economic potential. The new service is expected to improve access to the region
for international visitors, investors and business travelers.
Ethiopian
Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the route strengthens the carrier's
presence in Mozambique and supports closer economic and social ties between the
two countries. Nacala joins Maputo and Beira as the airline's third destination
in Mozambique.
The
new connection is also expected to facilitate trade, tourism and commercial
exchanges by providing travelers with access to Ethiopian Airlines' wider
international network through its Addis Ababa hub.
The
carrier serves more than 65 destinations across Africa, offering connections
between regional markets and international destinations.
The
new route adds capacity to the airline's African network as it continues to
expand connections intended to support the continent's travel, trade and
economic development.
