FedEx, China Southern Air Logistics sign strategic cooperation MoU

Dhaka: American express transportation giant FedEx and China Southern Air Logistics Co., Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation, formally establishing a strategic relationship between the two companies.
The signing took place on June 2 in Guangzhou, China. FedEx China President Poh-Yian Koh and China Southern Air Logistics Chairman Li Xiao signed the agreement, with FedEx Chief Operation Officer of International and CEO of Airline Richard W. Smith and China Southern Air Holding President Han Wensheng serving as witnesses.
Under the MoU, the two parties will explore cooperation across multiple key areas, including international flight and hub connectivity, network planning, fleet resources, ground operations, and digitalization. The collaboration aims to achieve mutual benefit and establish new benchmarks in global air logistics.
Koh said the partnership represents a pivotal opportunity to deepen business alignment and strengthen air logistics network development. He added that integrating FedEx's global air network with China Southern Air Logistics' domestic and international operational experience would enhance route connectivity and operational efficiency.
Xiao noted that the signing marks an important milestone in expanding the dimensions of cooperation between the two companies. He said both sides would leverage their respective strengths to enhance global supply chain stability and reinforce Guangzhou's strategic position as an international aviation hub.
FedEx first entered the Chinese market in 1984 and has since remained committed to expanding its network and deepening local partnerships. In recent months, the company further optimized its logistics connections between China and key markets across Asia and Europe.
The strategic partnership is expected to bolster cross-border logistics services for Chinese customers while building a more efficient and resilient global air logistics ecosystem.
