SalamAir to launch direct Salalah-Chattogram flights

Chattogram : SalamAir is set to launch direct flights from Salalah to Chattogram, Jeddah and Calicut as part of its plan to establish the first airline base in Salalah.

The Oman-based low-cost carrier opened bookings for the new routes on August 26, with services scheduled to begin in late October under its Winter 2026 schedule.

The new Chattogram connection will provide a direct travel option between Bangladesh's second-largest city and Salalah, potentially benefiting Bangladeshi expatriates and travelers in Dhofar.

SalamAir said the Salalah base will help meet year-round travel demand among residents and expatriate communities while strengthening the governorate's links with major regional markets.

The airline's expansion follows increased activity during Oman's 2026 Khareef season, when SalamAir operated up to 15 daily flights between Muscat and Salalah and added thousands of seats to meet visitor demand.

The new operation will use SalamAir's Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. The airline currently operates a fleet of 18 aircraft.

During the winter season, SalamAir will also run charter services from Salalah to Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, targeting inbound tourism from Central Asia.

CEO Adrian Hamilton-Manns said the new base would strengthen connectivity and support Salalah's development as a year-round tourism and economic destination.
